Up and Running, Running, Running

It's been a busy week and a half here, and I'm ready for my mid-way vacation, tomorrow.  Last blog was a week and a half ago; since then, there was Monday, when I began seeing clients at 8 am and finished at 6 pm.  Though every spot wasn't full yet, it was nevertheless a long day.  So, when I found out my friend wasn't able to go to theatre that night, I wasn't extremely disappointed.  I'd have loved to see the show, but I was really tired, and Tuesday provided another full work day.

After working Tuesday from 8--2, I went to my new corner pub with client/friend Seamus for a pint; then to kill a bit of time, I went on to the Museum of London.  It's been six years since I've seen this museum, and they've done good things...new exhibits, better displays.  This great little museum in the heart of the City is on the London Wall, with my new clinic.  And, it was a great midway in the walk to St Paul's where we had our second rehearsal.  In that night about 9 pm.  Wednesday, finally another day off, but I took tube up to the north part of town to work on a private client at home, from 6--9 pm, two people.  So, a long day nevertheless, especially when....

Thursday began the CORE III class, six intensive days with a Sunday off in the middle.  Had I enrolled IV's, I think I'd be beaten totally down by now, as the four III's gave me a run for the money.  Great group though! Pictured are Liz, working on Chris, and Richard, a Level IV who came up from Devon to spend a day and a half with us, and was invaluable on so many levels.  Three intense days, a Sunday off...during Thursday and Friday nights, I stayed with friend/client/student Lisl in Wimbledon; when I realized the commute from one part of the West side of town to another was as long as my commute from northeast, I changed plans for the last couple of nights.

Sunday night, at home on the day off, was supposed to be dinner in my neighborhood with colleague Bev and her partner Lee; I got a text an hour or so before that Bev was in emergency.  Turns out she broke a small toe trying to get into the train car on tube line!  No dinner that evening.

Monday, back at the intensive course...each student taking a partner and a model through my five session series.  Here, Rachel prepares to explore Peter's jaw issues!

Monday lunch, a bit of window shopping.....On Monday night, after dinner with Richard and student Liz, she and I returned to the house she stays in when in London...a block from the Victoria and Albert Museum in South Kensington.  I felt like I'd arrived!  Owned by family friends of hers, this three story house was built as servant quarters, but is such a desirable location, that we had a fifteen minute commute to our class space, instead of an hour!  Beautiful place with generous owners--thanks, Zarul!

After class Tuesday, one more drink with Richard before getting him on the train home; then a walk to Fran and Ali's flat to have dinner and see my lovely new Irish grandbaby, Ciara (Keera).

Nine weeks old and what a charmer, not to mention a pretty independent little girl!

Graduation!  These four, Rachel Musson, Peter McGregor, Liz Buri and Chris Mowen, have performed above and beyond the call of duty.  I don't call this course 'Intensive' for no reason; it's hard, hard work for them, and they all performed admirably.  Congratulations to the newest CORE III's in UK, bringing the total in UK to 12 (Liz is taking the work home to Malaysia!)

Home at ten pm, right into bed, and ready for the last day of class which we dismissed in the early afternoon, letting me get home and get ready to leave for Holland tomorrow.  It's full, it's full, it's full, but it's good. Back Sunday night....
